About the Little Rams
The YWL Little Rams Service League is dedicated to introducing preschool and elementary-aged children to service. About the Young Women’s League of New Canaan
The Young Women’s League of New Canaan is a service-based social organization, whose purpose is to enrich Fairfield County through fundraising and volunteering. Since 2000, we have distributed over $1 million in grants, have worked with hundreds of local charities and have donated thousands of volunteer hours to community service.
Through our Giving Fund, the YWL will award grant money to non-profits in our community who offer critical programs for women in need. The YWL hopes to improve the lives of Fairfield County’s women by furthering important work in areas such as education, healthcare, social services, nutrition, special needs services and childcare.
In 1973 a group of women, who were determined to make a difference, came together in an organized effort as the “Young Women’s League of New Canaan, Inc.”, a 501c (3) charity. The meetings began in the living rooms of these foresighted women who set up an organization of giving and caring which provided a wonderful place where women can come together and, in the process, positively change their lives and that of others on the way.
Today, the YWL still largely draws members from New Canaan but also has members who live in Darien, Stamford, Norwalk and other surrounding towns. This membership diversity has strengthened the YWL and widened our outreach beyond New Canaan.
